What you will need:
- One onion (yellow or white )
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 2 – 3 garlic cloves chopped/minced
- Tablespoon of tomato paste.
- 12 oz can of fire roasted tomatoes
- One cup of beef broth
- One can of red kidney beans
- One can of black beans
- 4 tablespoon of Sweet Heat Mesquite Seasoning/Rub
- One cup of water.
Instructions:
- In one pan start frying the ground beef up, meanwhile in a large pot start sautéing the onions and garlic on medium to low heat in a teaspoon of olive oil.
- When the ground beef is done, drain and then add to onions and garlic.
- Add two tablespoon of Mesquite Seasoning.
- Mix real well, then add tomato paste.
- When ingredients are incorporated well then add beef broth and then the fire roasted tomatoes, mix well for about two minutes.
- Then add beans and one cup of water and finally add two more tablespoons of Mesquite Seasoning Note ( this seasoning has a smoky subtle heat with some sweet , if desired to want a bit more heat add at this time 3 tablespoons and not two) taste and adjust accordingly .
- Reduce heat to low and Simmer for about 60 minutes stirring every 15 minutes or until desired thickness is reached.
